Yoga

“Your body exists in the past and your mind exists in the future. In yoga, they come together in the present.”

How Yoga Supports Mind, Body & Spirit

Yoga is clinically proven to relieve stress, help process trauma, promote overall sense of well being and provide somatic relief.

I’ve been on my mat since 2005 and began certified as a 200HR yoga teacher through the exquisite Samadhi Yoga in Lakewood, Colorado.

Research shows that yoga can be an effective adjunct to psychotherapy by supporting stress reduction, trauma processing, emotional regulation, and overall resilience. Rather than focusing on performance or flexibility, this approach emphasizes presence, choice, and embodied awareness.

Benefits may include:

  • Reduced stress, anxiety, and nervous system dysregulation

  • Support for trauma recovery and integration

  • Increased emotional regulation and distress tolerance

  • Improved body awareness and mind–body connection

  • Relief from chronic tension, pain, and somatic holding

  • Enhanced mood, energy, and overall sense of well-being

  • Greater capacity for grounding, rest, and self-trust

Yoga becomes a bridge—supporting the body while gently creating space for emotional and psychological healing.

What to Expect in a Yoga Session

Sessions are intentionally paced, trauma-informed, and adapted to meet you where you are. There is no expectation to push, perform, or override your body’s signals. Choice, consent, and nervous system safety are central to the practice.

Sessions may include gentle movement, breath awareness, grounding postures, and moments of stillness or reflection. Modifications are always offered, and you are welcome to rest, pause, or adjust at any time.

The focus is not on achieving a particular shape, but on cultivating a felt sense of presence, stability, and connection—allowing the practice to support both physical release and internal regulation.

My Holistic Approach to Yoga

In the meditation room, I offer yoga as part of session to help get in your body, connect with your internal energy and process what’s stuck or wanting to be moved through. Yoga Nidra, yin yoga or even few intentional yogic sequences can be a wonderful way to bring in the body, connecting with strength, grounding, or healing and practicing poses you can take outside of session to deepen your personal work.
