Sound Healing Therapy in Lakewood, Colorado

Vibrational Medicine for Mind, Body & Spirit on a cellular level

Sound is more than something we hear—it’s something we feel. It moves through the body like water, loosening what’s been stuck, softening what’s been held, and creating space for presence, release, and healing. At Looking Forward Counseling, I offer multiple pathways to experience sound healing, depending on your needs and intentions. We can integrate sound healing into therapy sessions, as a private offering, or in a group sound healing setting.  I hold regular sound healing circles.

What is Sound Healing?

Sound healing is a somatic therapeutic modality that uses intentional sound frequencies—such as crystal singing bowls, chimes, tuning forks, and voice—to support nervous system regulation and mind–body awareness.

From a clinical perspective, sound healing works as a bottom-up approach, meaning it supports healing through the body rather than relying solely on cognitive processing. This can be especially supportive for individuals navigating anxiety, chronic stress, trauma, emotional overwhelm, or disconnection from the body.

How Does Sound Healing Work?

The nervous system responds naturally to rhythm, vibration, and tone. When stress or trauma has kept the body in a state of heightened alert or shutdown, sound can offer a steady sensory anchor that supports regulation and integration.

Rather than pushing for release, sound healing gently invites the nervous system into states associated with safety, rest, and coherence. Many people experience this as deep relaxation, increased presence, or a subtle sense of internal spaciousness. Your system is always in charge—nothing is forced, and nothing is rushed

Benefits of Sound Healing

When offered within a trauma-informed framework, sound healing may support:

  • Nervous system regulation and stress reduction

  • Greater emotional tolerance and grounding

  • Reduced anxiety, hypervigilance, and burnout

  • Support for trauma integration without re-experiencing

  • Increased body awareness and internal safety

  • A deeper capacity for rest, clarity, and self-connection

Each experience is unique. There is no “right” way to feel during or after a session—your nervous system responds in the way it needs to.

What to Expect in a Session

Sessions take place in a calm, supportive space designed to help you feel safe and at ease. You remain fully clothed and may sit or lie down in a position that feels comfortable. We can integrate aromatherapy, poetry, affirmations and breathwork as well as meditation.

Sessions often include gentle grounding, optional intention-setting, and time for integration. You are always welcome to adjust your position, open your eyes, or take a pause. Sound is offered as an invitation, not a demand, and your boundaries are honored throughout.
